With great pleasure we invite you to participate in the AgriFuture Days 2014 that will take place from June 16th to 18th in Villach, Austria.

As an overwhelming number of farms in the world are family farms and most farming is a family business and as 2014 has been declared as the the International Year of Family Farming by the United Nations General Assembly, the  AgriFuture Days are devoted to the important role of family farming

Pls. mark this date in your calendar already now.

The conference will discuss the future of agriculture in the context how ICTs can contribute to improve family farming and make it more sustainable, resilient and profitable. It will look at key issues in 3 areas where application and use ICTs and related technologies make a difference:

  1. Informing family farming communities
  2. Improving family farm’s production, productivity and marketing efficiencies
  3. Contributing to the future of agriculture

Key notes from leading experts, presentations on issues and technological solutions, panel discussions, open space and a Market-place where technologies and ideas can be exhibited and presented, will shape the program.

The conference brings together senior representatives of leading public, private, education and research organizations from around the world to collectively discuss and find ways to improve productivity, efficiency, access to markets, transfer of know-how  and information.

The conference is initiated by the Club of Ossiach, which is a group of agriculturists, agribusiness managers, agriculture and forestry technologists, environmentalists and agricultural ICT specialists from around the world. They meet periodically to collectively discuss and collaboratively act on influencing the use of information and communications technologies (ICTs) to improve agricultural productivity, profitability and contribution to food and nutritional security and safety globally.

We would be very pleased if you will take part and contribute to the program. There is an open call for papers, you may book your exhibition space, and/or present your expertise of which the worldwide farming community may profit from.

We look forward to welcoming you in Villach, the secret capital of Carinthia, which is surrounded by an uniquely beautiful landscape. Combine your stay with some relaxing hours  at the wonderful lakeside sites  or the magnificent alpine world. Enjoy the  Charinthian hospitality or give your body a tread in the famous thermal water of Warmbad - sustainable used since Roman times.
